Teen Accused in Anna Kepner Case Ordered Back to Jail Ahead of Trial
Timothy Hudson, 16, the teenager accused of killing his stepsister Anna Kepner aboard a Carnival cruise ship, has been ordered back into custody after a judge revoked his pretrial release.
Hudson surrendered to U.S. Marshals on Monday following a ruling by Magistrate Judge Edwin Torres, who determined that the teen should no longer remain free while awaiting trial.
According to court documents, the judge cited evidence presented by prosecutors and concluded that Hudson poses a potential danger to himself and others. The ruling came after prosecutors argued that the seriousness of the allegations warranted his detention pending trial.
The case has drawn widespread attention, and the latest court decision marks a significant development as legal proceedings continue. Hudson remains in custody while awaiting future hearings and the eventual start of his trial.
