Teddi Mellencamp has shared an emotional reflection marking one year since she was diagnosed with cancer, revealing that the milestone brings a mix of anxiety and deep gratitude.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recalled how her health scare began, explaining that she went to the emergency room believing she was suffering from severe migraines. Within just 24 hours, she underwent surgery to remove stage 4, plum-sized tumors from her brain.
Now 44, Mellencamp—who is a mother of three—admitted that the anniversary is emotionally challenging, but said she is choosing to focus on what she is thankful for. She expressed gratitude toward the doctors and nurses who treated her, her family and friends for their unwavering support, and the outpouring of love she has received from fans.
At one point, doctors reportedly gave Mellencamp a 50/50 chance of survival. Despite the fear surrounding her diagnosis, she used the moment to encourage others to take their health seriously.
“Trust your instincts and get checked,” she urged her followers.
Mellencamp’s post was met with supportive messages from friends and fellow reality stars, including former RHOBH castmate Kyle Richards, who said she couldn’t believe a year had already passed since the diagnosis.
